Legal problem in Poland - who to turn to?

In Poland there are two types of licensed lawyers: advocates (attorneys) and legal advisors. This division originates from the history of the profession and has no considerable meaning nowadays – the only difference that may be at the client’s interest is legal limitation of activity for the legal advisors, who cannot act as the defense counsels in criminal cases – however, recent legislative projects aim to unify totally the scope of advocates and legal advisors competence.

Some legal acts in Poland require participation of a public notary.
